Description
The Cavendish is made from solid mahogany rather than a veneer, with solid mahogany double mouldings and a deep high gloss finish.
The panelling is routed into the sides and the ends, so it carries all the way around rather than stopping at the sides. Together with the double mouldings and the double raised lid, that gives the Cavendish layer upon layer of shadow and depth.
It is fitted with polished brass bar handles on ornate scroll brackets, set against the routed panels.
Mahogany is a dense, close grained timber with a naturally rich reddish brown colour that deepens under gloss. It is the more formal of the two timbers we work in most often.
